And now for something different...

Publisher to me: Would your daughter be interested in doing the artwork for a gods & goddesses colouring book?

There followed a quick family meeting with discussions about having to get all the considerable amount of drawings done in the school summer holidays so it didn't interfere with GCSE work...

Us to publisher: Of course...

What actually transpired was our 15 year old daughter Emma creating 48 beautiful drawings, my husband Pete designing all the borders and 48 individual mandalas, one for each deity, our 10 year old son Ben writing poems for over half of them and myself sourcing the rest of the text.  In fact my part in the whole scheme was minimal - the bulk of the credit must go to Emma and Pete for all their hardwork and creativity.

We spent many weekends all sitting around the dining room table each working on their own part whilst listening to Magic radio (Mel Giedroyc on a Saturday and Rick Astley on a Sunday...don't judge...).

Some considerable time and many, many hours of work later...the Moon Books Gods & Goddesses Colouring book is with the publisher at the moment eagerly awaiting a publication date but we hope it will be before the end of the year...more details when I get them...

The drawings cover several pantheons: Celtic, Greek, Hindu, Egyptian, Norse and a selection from around the world.

We have...
Arianrhod, Blodeuwedd, Brighid, Cerridwen, Elen of the Ways, the Horned God, the Morrigan, the Oak & Holly Kings, Anubis, Bast, Hathor, Horus, Isis, Ma'at, Ra, Thoth, Aphrodite, Artemis, Demeter, Hekate, Hestia, Persephone, Poseidon, Zeus, Ganesha, Kali, Lakshmi, Parvati, Saraswati, Shakti, Shiva, Vishnu, Freya, Heimdall, Hel, Loki, Odin, Skadi, Thor, Valkyries, Baron Samedi, Ch'ang-O, Corn Mother, Ixchel, Lilith, Maman Brigitte, Oshun and Pele.

Each one with a brief description, a poem or chant, a unique mandala to colour and of course the main event - a beautiful A4 image to colour in.
